Danny and I met the first day I walked into Fruitland High School and it was love at first sight. We married November 16, 1990 and have four beautiful children. Dustin is 17, Austin 15, Savannah is 10 going on 15, and Grayson Sophia "Sophie" is 4 months old. Our blog is a way to keep in touch with far away friends, and share our everyday family life with our loved ones. Hope you enjoy!

Meet Sophie

Grayson Sophia, the newest addition to the Mahler Family. Adopted October 4, 2008 in Boise, ID. Sophie was quite a surprise. Danny and I had discussed foster parenting or adoption over the years, and always felt open to it if the right opportunity arose. I guess the Lord had more in store for our family than we thought when we moved back to Idaho. Sophie is the light and the joy of our home. Adored by her siblings and Danny and I, she has wiggled her way into our hearts in a way we never imagined possible.

"Our worst fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?' Actually, who are we not to be? You are a child of God: Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
